PREDA
PREDA stands for People’s Recovery, Empowerment, and Development Assistance Foundation. Father Shay Cullen, a missionary priest, established PREDA in 1973 in order to help prostitutes, street children and drug abusers change their lives. By offering drug-abuse/prevention and rehabilitation programs, counseling services, and legal aid, Preda has helped many forgotten people. Fair Trade handicraft training and marketing assistance was introduced several years later to specifically help women and children get off the streets and into good paying jobs. The sale of their handicrafts supports their training and the protection of children’s rights. |
